About our charity
What we do

Live Well with Cancer helps people to live life fully with and beyond a cancer diagnosis. Our workshops, events, support groups, 1-2-1 support and educational resources are free to anyone affected by a cancer diagnosis, including family, friends, carers and healthcare professionals.
Our Live Well Hub on Nile Street in the heart of North Shields has become a lifeline to members of our community, particularly for those who have just received a diagnosis and those who have come to the end of treatment.
Founded by people affected by cancer, for people affected by cancer, we provide vital support through self-help, mutual support and signposting to existing services. As our charity continues to grow, we seek new and better ways to help our community to live well with cancer.

Our Purpose
Why we do what we do
Almost 50% of people will get cancer in their lifetime. In 2021, the North East had the highest rate of cancer incidences for both males and females. As the number of people surviving cancer increases, more people have significant unmet needs, particularly at treatment end. Our services provide invaluable support within the community to anyone affected by a cancer diagnosis.
Our Values
What we believe in
At Live Well with Cancer, we care about empowering our community to improve their health and wellbeing.

Our Focus
What we want to achieve
Our vision for the future is a Live Well Hub that empowers anyone affected by cancer to improve their health and wellbeing. Working in partnership with local organisations, we actively engage with our community to meet their unmet needs and provide sessions and resources that help them to live well with cancer.
